HEALTH, the Mae-Shi, Foot Village & Anavan

This Saturday the Smell hosts a lineup of bands that will be sure to make your ears melt and your boner pop. Hometown favorites HEALTH, the Mae Shi, Foot Village, and Anavan will all be playing their own brands of experimental rock goodness. Noisy jolts of punk aesthetic, heavily rhythm orientated ear goop, that has the tendency to make you flail your arms, dance around, and freak the f– shall ensue.

If you're from Los Angeles, and haven't seen or heard any of these bands, you should be slapping yourself in the genitalia (in a non pleasing manner), and if you have heard the goodness, well, I guess you could be congratulated by slapping yourself in the genitalia (this time in a pleasing manner). All cock-knockery and vag-wagglery aside, Saturday is sure to be one hell of an evening.

The show will be filmed for an upcoming DVD, "Live at the Smell," and is being put together by none other than Bob Bellerue (aka halfnormal (aka Redglaer)), noise artist and ex-curator of the sub-garde scene at Il Corral. The DVD is sure to be a must own for any fan of the bands playing and the exciting scene that's been going on in and around the Downtown LA space for the past decade. According to Dan from Foot Village, "this is [Bellerue's] tribute to the Los Angeles scene he helped foster."

Show up, pay the always cheap $5, eat yrself some tasty vegan treats, and enjoy.
