I've seen a lot of awesome and funny signs go up around Downtown with all the filming that goes on around here, but this one takes the cake, "Snow Route – No Standing During Emergency. Vehicles Will Be Impounded." I spotted this gem while biking down Hope, lurking on the corner of 6th, and had to pull off to snap a couple quick phone pics. Is it a prop? A piece of street art? A statement on the amount of coked-up Hollywood types moving into the neighborhood? Who knows?
Personally, I prefer to believe it a forecast of a shift in weather, left by some underground weatherman hobbyist – a lone city sign-maker come armchair meteorologist who has discovered the startling truth about our shifting climate. With no news media willing to back his story, he takes his message to the streets in the only way he knows how – via traffic signs. There's a cold front moving in to Downtown Los Angeles people! Slide on those moon boots and winter parkas! Snowball fight in Pershing Square! The Snowman Army is assembling on Spring!

Finally an organized snow route in downtown. You bet I will follow the what the sign says, if not for my saftey then for the avoidance of a $135 city ticket.
